You may have heard about mindfulness and been curious as to what this is and how it could benefit you.
Mindfulness is the ability for a person to be fully present, aware of where they are, what they are doing and how they are feeling.
Mindfulness allows an individual to connect with the present moment – the ability to connect with your own thoughts, feelings and the world around you. This can allow a person to enjoy the world around them and gain greater understanding of themselves without getting caught up in their thoughts and feelings. Through mindfulness a person can explore pain and hardship they are experiencing with acceptance, curiosity and emotional balance.
The Mindfulness therapy I offer integrates key elements of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
I am able to offer my clients mindfulness as part of their counselling or I offer private, one to one, Mindfulness and Meditation sessions in a block of 4 or 8.
All mindfulness sessions are private and confidential and tailored to your needs.
Practicing mindfulness involves focusing on breathing, guided imagery, mindful movement and mindful meditations including sitting and walking meditations all of which can help relax the body and mind and help reduce stress and anxiety.
Mindfulness has been found to be very beneficial in alleviating pain, stress, anxiety and sleep difficulties.
